Todd Long

Todd was born in 1964 in Arlington, Virginia. His interest in the federal government and national politics began early through his father’s career with the U.S. State Department and living just outside of Washington D.C.. Todd first moved to the Orlando area when he transferred from George Washington University (where he was their #1 tennis player as a sophomore) to play tennis for Rollins College in Winter Park. In 1986 he graduated from Rollins with a B.A. in Economics.

After earning his law degree at Wake Forest University, Todd returned to Orlando in 1989 and began his practice in commercial litigation and insurance defense with the firm of Drage, deBeaubien, Knight and Simmons. Throughout his legal career, Todd has tried many cases for insurance companies and injured victims.

In 2005, Todd became a small business owner and started his own law firm The Law Offices of Todd Long which grew to six lawyers and 20 employees. Due to his concern that the federal government was abandoning our Founding Fathers’ values and principles and bankrupting the nation, Todd began a conservative radio show named A Different Direction.
In 2007, Todd challenged four term incumbent Ric Keller in the Republican primary in Florida’s Eighth Congressional District and narrowly lost receiving 47% of the vote. Since the election, Todd devoted eight months to writing his book The Conservative Comeback and began hosting his radio show by the same name on 540 WFLA.

Todd and his wife Ninette reside in Winter Park with their two children, Noah and Natalia. They have been married since 2000.
